Wish Upon A Dish: Carbohydrates in Fruits and Vegetables

Carbohydrates in Fruits and Vegetables

With my new interest in creating very low carb recipes for those who would benefit, I composed two lists of carbohydrates in vegetables and carbohydrates in fruits and fruit juices.

I made sure each one was 1 page and could be pinned to a board or posted on a fridge.
Now when you need a reference for the lowest carbohydrate vegetable or fruit you will have an easy reference sheet.
Both are on 8x11 but can be scaled down to half that size. Tuck one in your wallet or download to your phone or pad and eat healthier.

Breakfast idea: Make a fritatta or omelet using mushrooms and Swiss chard for 2 carbs, top with cheese, wrap in foil and take it to go. No reason to buy something. As a matter of fact, on Sunday make your breakfasts for the week so there will be no temptation to stop for that bagel and cream cheese.

Lunch: A romaine salad with radishes, cucumber, cherry tomatoes and shredded carrots with a sugar free dressing for about 11 carbs.

With the running total at 13 carbs, you could eat a cup of pasta with 1 sausage and 1/2 cup cooked squash to round your day's carbohydrate total at 40-45 carbs.

For a snack, try fresh strawberries dipped into whipped cream sweetened with Truvia. I would say that was a very good food day.
When you know what you are putting in your belly, you can make wiser choices and not feel deprived at all.

Thank you for the heads up. I added a new link to a larger, more informative list of both veggies and fruits in one.
